Overview
Emergency lighting is a battery operated lighting system that is designed to switch on automatically when a building experiences a power outage.
Its primary purpose is to ensure safe evacuation by illuminating exit routes, stairwells, and exits, reducing panic during emergencies.
Types of Emergency Lighting
- Central BatteryUpon power failure, the central battery pack switches AC power to DC power and distributes power to the remote emergency lights and exit signs that are connected to it.
- Self-containedA self-contained battery system has a battery inside each emergency light unit or exit sign. Upon power failure, it turns on only its own light.
